The Epicor maintenance performed this evening has been completed and tested. Below is a report of tonight’s maintenance.
Should you have any issues connecting (even though testing was done), please let Ted know.
Date of Maintenance: April 21, 2025
System Affected: Epicor ERP Server (KineticERP)
On April 21, 2025, proactive maintenance was performed on the KineticERP server to reissue and install a new SSL/TLS certificate. This was necessary to prevent Epicor total service disruption, as the existing certificate was set to expire at 11:59 PM on April 22, 2025.
Epicor requires a valid and trusted certificate to operate securely, particularly for encrypted communication between clients and the server. Renewal was completed successfully, and Epicor services were only down for about 45 minutes while reissuing and testing was completed.
An SSL/TLS certificate is a digital credential that authenticates a server’s identity and enables encrypted connections over a network (typically HTTPS). In the case of Epicor, the certificate ensures that client applications securely connect to the server and that the server can be trusted.
When a certificate expires, applications may refuse to connect, or users may receive trust warnings—leading to service disruption. Keeping it current is critical for secure, reliable operation.
